Winnie the Pooh makes them seem so friendly...

Today we were all outside; Daddy was working on the lawn and I was grabbing things out of my car. KK was in the garage sitting on her bike (we could see her, we didn't let her play in there alone of course). Suddenly she started shrieking and crying. Daddy and I both flew to her but couldn't tell what was wrong - she was still next to her bike and there wasn't anything around her. Then it appeared. A big fat ugly bee was crawling out from between her chubby little thighs. Mean ol' thing had stung her! She handled it like a champ - better than her Daddy did when he got stung a couple of weeks ago. She only cried for a minute, and then spent the rest of the day saying "Bee! Bee sting you??? Bee! Sting!" while nodding her head briskly with eyes wide. And all of her books made her believe that bees were so cute and friendly. Reality can be so cruel.

Here is a happier picture. Pigtails or airplane wings? Hmmmm...

Get the meat tenerizer out, that will take care of the pain. Those bees can be so quick!! My poor baby girl. Looking forward to seeing her next month in So.Dak.!! The pigtail (aka airplain wings) are so cute!!! At least her hair is getting long enough to do that.

Love Grandma

Ouch! Poor baby. At least it was only one...every time I hear about a bee sting I think of my grandma, digging into an underground nest in her garden.
Give baby girl lots of kisses from Auntie Sunshine.

Oh ouch! Not fair! The only time my kids have been stung was when my son was reaching to pick a flower and grabbed the bee instead. Your post did make me wonder about how bees are portrayed in children's books. They do look so cute and cuddly. Seen through a child's eyes, how could they be so painful. Poor KK. I can just see her with her wide eyes.

Oh I am sorry! I am so scared of Avery getting a bee sting.

How nice that she didn't totally freak out on you! She is a trooper all alright.

Love the hairdo, she must go to the same hairdresser as my daughter :)
